Solid Black Stone Coffee Table – Tripod Series in Cast stone by Donatas Zukauskas
A concrete-look coffee table on three legs — elemental, almost prehistoric in outline, and rough by design. TRIPOD sets exact proportions against a raw, tactile finish, and the contrast is the whole character. Equally at ease as a coffee table, a low side table, or a sculptural accent.
The composite behind it grew out of years of hands-on trials — recycled paper pulp and cardboard, the second life of wood, bound with organic cement, binders, and paint into something that looks like cast stone but acts nothing like it. Far lighter than poured concrete, it flexes a little rather than snapping, and it is sealed for years of indoor use. Donatas calls the result the third life of wood: an ordinary material remade, through process, into something new.
The surface is meant to be uneven — the small marks and shifts are just the material speaking for itself, and the TRIPOD never hides how it was made. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.
