Designer Bookcases & Shelving Units by Independent Designers

Storage that earns its place as furniture. Our bookcase and shelving collection brings together freestanding bookcases, modular shelving systems, wall shelves, and book racks from independent designers working in oak, walnut, ash, aluminium, brass, and steel. Pieces made to be looked at as much as used. Prices from €938.

Bookcases as Furniture, Not Filler

A bookcase is one of the largest vertical surfaces in a room — which makes it one of the most consequential design decisions. The pieces collected here are made by designers who understand that. From raw aluminium modular systems and cast-iron bracket racks to solid oak bookshelves with joinery worth inspecting, each work is chosen for its structural thinking as much as its visual presence.

Materials and Construction

The collection spans solid hardwoods — oak, walnut, ash, pine — as well as welded steel, raw and anodised aluminium, and brass. Several pieces combine materials: ebonized oak with matte stainless steel, brass with textile panels, iron with wood. Many are available in multiple finishes or configurations, and a number are made to order — allowing adjustments to dimension and finish before production begins.

Modular Shelving Systems and Freestanding Bookcases

For larger spaces or more demanding storage requirements, the collection includes modular shelving systems that scale across wall widths, as well as freestanding bookcases, open shelving units, rotary shelves, and rolling book carts designed for flexible placement. Each designer's studio profile is transparent — so you know exactly who made it and can contact them directly for custom enquiries.

For Interior Designers and Residential Projects

Shelving is among the most-specified furniture categories in residential interiors, and the pieces here go well beyond generic options. If you're sourcing for a project, our Trade Program is available to registered interior designers and specifiers. For more complex requirements, our Curation Service can help identify the right piece or commission something bespoke.
