The Philosophy of Motion: Inspired by the freedom of the sea and the majesty of the mountains, its silhouette echoes a catamaran: two solid wooden bases connected by a central platform, with a backrest rising like a sail. It is designed for those who dream of the sea while living in the mountains, and of the mountains while sitting by the shore.

Premium Materiality: Crafted from solid Swiss Stone Pine (Zirbe), harvested from sustainably managed alpine forests, the untreated wood preserves its natural forest fragrance and develops a richer patina over time. Light marks can be removed with gentle hand sanding, restoring both its appearance and the fresh pine scent.

Textile Options: The cushions are upholstered in eco-friendly Villa Nova (Vienna Collection) fabrics. This edition features the warm terracotta Ayer colourway with subtle golden undertones, though the chair can be customized in any fabric from the collection.

Seamless Design & Logic: Designed for intuitive tool-free assembly, the chair is delivered in two pre-assembled interlocking sections that lock together using precision aluminum dovetail connectors. No screws, glue, or additional hardware are required. Viktor Palnychenko is an independent designer based in Tyrol, Austria, whose work explores the relationship between material, structure, and human interaction through collectible furniture and sculptural functional objects.Working closely with local Alpine workshops and craftsmen, he combines practical construction knowledge with contemporary woodworking technologies, including CNC fabrication and modular assembly systems. His projects are developed through a process that values material honesty, tactile experience, and the natural aging of wood over time.A central aspect of his practice is the use of regional Alpine materials such as Swiss stone pine (Zirbe) and spruce — woods traditionally connected to the culture and craftsmanship of the mountain region.
