The Ciénega Chair is inspired by the trace of the San Marcos River in Cuatro Ciénagas, Coahuila, a unique oasis in the middle of the desert. It’s elegant top is an allusion to the collective imagery of desert fauna. Each piece is hand woven by a third generation weaver. The Ciénega Chair is part of our Desierto Collection. We’ve always been intrigued when the passage of time leaves its mark. With this collection, we wanted to explore the idea of how time is expressed in our creative process—much like the wind creates patterns in the sand and rain forms silhouettes on stones. With Desierto, we delve into the notion of intentionally marking certain parts of the piece and juxtaposing them with other elements, just as nature does.
