The Bow Chair draws from the medieval longbow, a weapon once crafted for hunting and warfare. By shifting its function from shooting to sitting, the work explores how an act of violence can be redefined through the act of sitting.
The chair reinterprets the bow’s inherent tension, allowing that tension itself to become the structure of sitting. What once was drawn for release is now sustained as form.
The Bow Chair features three bent-walnut bow backrests and a stainless steel frame, translating the tension of the bow into the structure of a chair.
