Split was born from a question about structure. What holds two separate things together when distance is the only thing between them. The chair is conceived as a body divided. Seat and backrest split along a central axis, suspended in tension by the space between them. That gap is the force.
Crafted from plywood veneered in walnut and oak, the contrast between the two woods makes the division visible, honest, intentional. The dark walnut base and the light oak backrest read as two materials in dialogue. Each one pulling toward the other.
Produced to order in Mexico City in collaboration with regional woodworkers. Part of an open series conceived with the same rigor, authenticity, and character as the limited editions.
