Description

The Sonora collection by NASSI Lamps is deeply inspired by the rural traditions of Puglia, a region in Italy where clay and linen have been integral to everyday life for generations. The cylindrical terracotta base supports a soft linen lampshade, which gently diffuses the warm light of a classic bulb, creating a calming, tranquil atmosphere.

Designed to evoke the peaceful feeling of a seaside retreat, the Sonora lamps feature hand-sewn pure linen shades, crafted using traditional techniques and finished without plastic. The shades are lined with fine warm white cotton poplin for added depth and warmth. The terracotta base is lathe-turned, fired in an ancient wood-fired oven, and meticulously polished and waxed with natural finishes.

This lamp can be customized to work in any country, and it is also possible to customize dimensions and fabric colors.

About NASSI LAMPS Visit Showroom →

Nassi Lamps has been a cornerstone of the handmade lampshade world since 1960, weaving a story that spans three generations of women. Rooted in the traditions of artisanal craftsmanship, Nassi fuses the timeless art of lamp-making with a modern exploration of design and everyday objects. Each lamp is meticulously handcrafted in Puglia, a region in southern Italy known for its dry, sun-baked landscapes and rich cultural symbolism. Here, in a land that is both humble and poetic, Nassi’s designs reflect the paradox of this environment—hard yet warm, austere yet rich in meaning. By blending classic lampshade forms with clean, minimalist shapes, Nassi creates a refined aesthetic that balances the allure of filtered light with the use of exceptional materials. The result is a new romantic rationalism—an elegant reduction and refinement that transforms everyday objects into artistic statements.
