Description

Uncannily challenging excessive symbolic power granted to scientific institutions, the “Institutional Chair” reveals a tension with the accepted desubjectivisation of the body into specimen for study.

The Institution Chair’s smoothly finished lamb leather seat subtly winks at clinical aesthetics. The seat suspends from chromed steel rings that hang onto an elegant and minimalistic structure.

About the designer

Panorammma is a furniture design atelier based in Mexico City that seeks to redefine our relation to functional objects through experimentations with materials and forms. Functionality becomes a premise for visual narratives and a medium for conceiving new possibilities of living immersed in an aesthetic proposal.
