Asea No. 41 is a wall light by Ceren Gürkan in the Organic Modern idiom: individually handcrafted wavy textures in ceramic stoneware paired with luminous hand-blown glass, made to order.

Asea means “seawards”; the piece was created while dreaming in colours borrowed from the sea, its textured ceramic meeting the light the way the sun meets the shore, softly, rhythmically and with quiet movement.

Each piece is shaped and finished by hand in the studio, and the organic variation in the stoneware and the character of the blown glass make every one unique. Custom sizes, finishes and glass options are available on request.

Based in Istanbul, the ceramic artist and designer works with glass, clay, and wood, treating them as living narratives shaped by craftsmanship and time.Through her brand Maiizen, she reinterprets traditional glass-blowing to create sculptural lighting installations. In her independent practice, she works with stoneware and porcelain to investigate the raw boundaries of form and the tactile honesty of the medium.
