The Dalma is a marble and oak dining table, a round table scaled for intimate gatherings, a warm, dark stone leading and a solid oak base grounding it. It pairs two materials that warm to each other rather than compete.
The stone is Emperador Dark, a warm brown Spanish marble crossed by fine white-and-cream calcite veining, deeper in colour than the paler marbles. Beneath it, oak smoked to a near-black brown, the grain still legible, so the marble and oak read as two tones of a single warmth. Each top is cut from its own block, so no two of these marble and oak dining tables are quite alike.
Underneath, a solid oak base does the structural work. Two boards are set perpendicular and slotted one through the other into an interlocking cross-leg structure, the join shown rather than hidden, the support of the piece and the craft of it one and the same.
Composed and round, the marble and oak dining table anchors a dining room without dominating it, at home in a considered interior.
