Description

The Sonora Rattan “New Edition” by NASSI Lamps combines rustic charm with a touch of mid-century modern influence, featuring a special leather finish and a removable rattan top. It is inspired by the rural culture of southern Italy, where clay and rush have been integral to home life for centuries.

The cylindrical terracotta base supports a light, basket-like rattan shade, which gently diffuses the glow of a warm light bulb with a chrome cap, creating a soft, relaxing ambiance reminiscent of a seaside retreat. The rattan lampshades are meticulously hand-stitched, finished without plastic, and lined with care. The terracotta base is lathe-turned, baked using the ancient wood-burning oven technique, and polished with natural waxes to preserve its rustic charm and artisanal quality.

This lamp can be customized to work in any country, and is available in other dimensions on request.

About NASSI LAMPS Visit Showroom →

Nassi Lamps has been a cornerstone of the handmade lampshade world since 1960, weaving a story that spans three generations of women. Rooted in the traditions of artisanal craftsmanship, Nassi fuses the timeless art of lamp-making with a modern exploration of design and everyday objects. Each lamp is meticulously handcrafted in Puglia, a region in southern Italy known for its dry, sun-baked landscapes and rich cultural symbolism. Here, in a land that is both humble and poetic, Nassi’s designs reflect the paradox of this environment—hard yet warm, austere yet rich in meaning. By blending classic lampshade forms with clean, minimalist shapes, Nassi creates a refined aesthetic that balances the allure of filtered light with the use of exceptional materials. The result is a new romantic rationalism—an elegant reduction and refinement that transforms everyday objects into artistic statements.
