Purito Desk in French Oak

The PURITO Desk is a sculptural solid wood desk crafted from a recovered single slab of French oak and solid oak heartwood. Combining natural materiality with refined architectural proportions, the design celebrates the grain, imperfections, and evolving character of the wood.

The tabletop is made from one continuous French oak slab, preserving the natural flow of the grain, tonal variations, and organic markings across the entire surface. One edge is precisely straight, while the opposite side follows a softer, naturally flowing contour shaped by the movement of the wood. This subtle asymmetry gives the desk a distinctive character and creates a more organic relationship between the furniture and its user.

The supporting legs are made from solid oak heartwood assembled while the wood retains a degree of natural humidity. As the timber gradually dries, new fissures and subtle cracks can naturally appear, allowing the desk to continue evolving over time. These changes are an inherent part of the material and ensure that each piece develops its own unique character.

An integrated intermediate shelf provides practical storage for books, objects, and personal items while adding rhythm to the open structure beneath the tabletop. Its visible support system reflects traditional woodworking principles, allowing structural details to remain part of the aesthetic.
