Lucrecia is a striking marble and onyx console, part of the DBS-2024 collection by Mexico-based design studio Ayres. Rooted in an exploration of daily life, cultural identity, and materiality, Lucrecia transforms traditional Mexican confectionery into a sculptural furniture piece, bridging nostalgia with contemporary design.
Inspiration & Design
The organic-shaped bases of the console are inspired by Mexico’s iconic solid candies, such as Tornillo and Faros, whose distinctive forms serve as the foundation for this design. The rich textures and colors of these traditional sweets informed the material selection, with marble and onyx carefully chosen to translate their vibrant, playful essence into a refined and timeless composition.
