Description

This lighting object began as a found chunk of styrofoam on a beach by the Baltic Sea. It was turned into a light shell of copper through an electroformed bath, then encrusted with natural minerals that shine the light from inside.

The project is about appreciating the beauty of common materials, and what has already been lost in our eyes. What was thrown out by the sea — unwanted human waste — is combined with a true treasure of the depths: crystal rock and green fluorite.

Each object is unique, made from a different chunk of styrofoam, so shape may vary. This lamp can be customized to work in any country.
