The Curva by Ecuador-based design house Laluz Handcraft is a sculptural floor lamp that embodies flow and movement. Its solid wood body transmits softness and warmth while creating a unique sense of rhythm within its curves.
Inspired by the moment between rains in the Ecuadorian rainforest, where energy flows between insects, plants and soil, the Curva captures the beauty and delicacy of a water droplet’s dance from treetops to lower leaves. This moment of flow is embodied by carefully hand-sculpted asymmetrical curves in solid fair trade Guarango wood, revealing mesmerizing natural colors and shades. The lamp combines the grounding elements of wood with custom-made bronze hardware for the electrical components.
Completely asymmetrical, the Curva features varying dimensions in its form — the lampshade diameter is 29.5 inches, while the diameter of the lamp’s body varies between 16.5, 10 and 6 inches. Despite its asymmetry, the lamp is completely stable, thanks to its perfectly aligned center and the grounding weight of being made entirely from solid wood.
This lamp can be customized to work in any country. The technical electrical hardware comes in solid bronze with interior plastic electrical components, and the electrical wire comes in black.
