The Karakum Chair is inspired by the lines of the desert mountains, the ability to take a deep breath and bring it all in. The Karakum chair is an invitation to read, meditate, and contemplate. The Karakum Chair is part of our Desierto Collection. We’ve always been intrigued when the passage of time leaves its mark. With this collection, we wanted to explore the idea of how time is expressed in our creative process—much like the wind creates patterns in the sand and rain forms silhouettes on stones. With Desierto, we delve into the notion of intentionally marking certain parts of the piece and juxtaposing them with other elements, just as nature does.
The interwoven fabric of cord upon cord, alongside the carefully molded and polished wood. Each piece in this collection carries the craftsmanship of at least two artisans who, in different times, have marked time with their hands.
