Sideboard.

Ice Beech Center Piece, that holds Stainless Steel Shelves – counter parted with a Stained Concrete Column, split into three parts.

Devoted to the intentional use, curation and finishing of unique and long lasting materials we created new collectible design objects, including this Ice Beech Sideboard. The main focus was on creating objects that both reshape and highlight the initial features of the certain material. For the main part of the sideboard we sourced a precious wood called Ice Beech (“Truffle Beech”), that has a characteristic dark/black swirling grain, due to unique ageing and its interaction with the surrounding. This structure is again referenced in a counterparted element of the object: Stained Concrete, that due to a unique finish resembles that natural and unique gradient/swirl in a modern and artificial way.

With each object, the design studio manifests a case study of a new material or concept, gradually adding stainless steel, glas, wood and natural stone to their expertise.
