Description

A whimsical wall light that is characterized by an appealing simplicity and functions as a delicious source of smooth ambient lighting, thanks to its particular shape. Taco de Luz is made entirely by hand with an oval sheet of hammered metal that gently embraces and partially conceals the light source within — hence its fanciful name. The main design idea in this lighting object is the contrast between the sleek tubular lightbulb and the handmade texture of the hammered metal that contains it, which creates a balanced interplay between smooth and indented surfaces, as well as linear and curved formal elements.

The soft curvature of the rolled metal both conceals and accents the light source, resulting in a wall fixture that is interesting even when it’s not lit. When illuminated, the concave interior glows brilliantly and the negative space between the two ends of the ‘taco’ is activated. When switched off, the object acquires a more sculptural character thanks to its vertical, tubular shape and the convex surfaces of its two wings that catch and reflect light from their surroundings.

Taco de Luz is available in two sizes: 30cm and 50cm. The smaller model serves as a typical sconce, ideal to be used in pairs on walls, as bed lighting, on pillars, or provide accent lighting to specific architectural features, doorways, and artworks. The 50cm model is a brighter and wider alternative, designed to illuminate larger spaces and hallways, or even appear in pairs for a grander effect in main entrances and lobbies.

All Taco de Luz lights feature a dimmable LED tube bulb and are available in two finishes: brushed bronze and black patinated brass.

This lamp works only for EU standards.
