The Dragon Lamp by Vincent Decat is an entirely handmade lighting sculpture that takes inspiration from myths. With its bold, sculptural form, it looks like a creature from another world, frozen in time. Crafted from copper and plaster, it combines texture and form to create a striking presence.
Part of the Modern Creature series, the Dragon Lamp is one of two lamps that embody creature-like qualities which seem to move and change over time. By giving them a sense of life, they become small companions, like pets that people cherish, hold onto, and consider friends.

Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist and designer exploring the intersection between sculpture and functional design. Graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven, he creates interior objects that integrate sculptural thinking into everyday use. His work is characterized by forms that suggest life and movement, pieces that seem to breathe or shift, inviting physical interaction. These animal-like qualities transform functional objects into personal and engaging pieces. By creating pieces that feel almost alive, he encourages a relationship of care rather than consumption.
