Jonathan Bocca (J.o.B.) is an Italian-Polish designer and artist based in Tuscany whose practice moves between collectible design, sculpture, and material research. After studying at IED Florence and the University of the Arts London, he further developed his experimental approach during his time at Fabrica Research Centre before establishing his independent practice.Rooted in the paper-producing district of Lucca, Bocca is known for transforming industrial paper waste and reclaimed materials into sculptural furniture, lighting, and collectible objects. His work combines traditional craftsmanship, material innovation, and environmental awareness, creating pieces distinguished by their expressive forms, tactile surfaces, and strong narrative character. His projects have been exhibited internationally through platforms including Milan Design Week, Alcova, Collectible Brussels, Isola Design Festival, and galleries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In 2025, Architectural Digest Italia selected Jonathan Bocca among its "New Talents of 2025," recognizing him as one of the most promising emerging voices in contemporary Italian design. The publication highlighted his experimental material research, playful sculptural language, and growing international impact. Also in 2025, Bocca expanded his activity as a curator with Design in a Real World, the inaugural exhibition promoted by VESTIGIA and hosted at Villa Marie in Tuscany. Bringing together designers connected to the region's artisanal heritage, the exhibition explored the relationship between contemporary design, craftsmanship, landscape, and cultural identity.Through both his artistic and curatorial work, Jonathan Bocca continues to investigate how sustainability, local craftsmanship, and material experimentation can generate new forms of contemporary collectible design.
