Description

Tiles is a ceramic wall light collection by Violaine d’Harcourt, made in collaboration with Dutch designer Marianne Smink. Each piece is crafted by hand in a workshop north of Coimbra, Portugal, built from two hand-made tiles screen-printed in a palette of natural hues.

Indirect lighting from a 2700K LED bulb gives a soft, inviting ambiance, its warm glow enhancing rather than dominating a room. Because each tile is made entirely by hand, every wall lamp is unique, carrying its own variation in colour and the small imperfections that come with handmade work.

The collection comprises three series of 2-tile lamps: Tiles Moon, Tiles Door and Tiles Line. This is the Door version, American spec.

It’s a hardwired wall lamp with the bulb included, fitted with a magnetic diffuser to soften light spilling to the sides.

Violaine d'Harcourt is a lighting designer born in Paris in 1987. Since childhood, she has developed her artistic sensibility through drawing, sculpture and modeling.She then studied design and interior design at Camondo in Paris and then at Scuola Politecnica in Milan. After experiences in design production at Jacopo Foggini studio in Milano, Federico Churba in Buenos Aires and Galerie Kreo in Paris, she started to create her own lightings, convinced that a thoughtfully designed light can provide the extra soul needed in any living space.Made of ceramic, metal, paper, glass, wood and marble, her lightings are produced between France and Portugal. Their manufacture is issued from a right balance between craftsmanship and industry, guaranteeing her clients quality and durability.She lives in Lisbon since 2021 and works between Portugal and France.
