Axile is Errance’s take on an anachronistic artefact: a form conceived from the thistle, a marginal, dried flower that looks almost fossilised once preserved, caught somewhere between still being part of the living world and already reading as a relic. Imagined as a fragment from an undefined future, its ambiguous shape sits between organism and an archaeological find from something not quite human.
The lamp explores the meeting point between that archaic imagery and contemporary fabrication: light appears held and protected within the structure, as if extracted from its original state and placed into preservation. The form itself comes from a procedural 3D modelling process that turns hand-drawn shapes into volumetric structures while keeping the spontaneity of the original hand-drawn gesture, before those fragments are reorganised through symmetry into a crystallised, organic-looking structure — mineral precision meeting the softness and imperfection of something living.
