The Nucleation Floor Lamp captures the invisible instant when water begins to freeze, turning fluidity into structure. Inspired by the moment molecules align to form the seed of a crystal, it explores the threshold between chaos and order through a composition of interlocking metal planes.
Handmade from steel sheet, each plane is individually cut, assembled and welded piece by piece. The surface is finished by acid blackening, which darkens the metal itself rather than coating it, revealing the natural oxidation, veining and tonal variation already in the steel, so every piece is unique. The final surface is matte and raw.
Designed to be seen from the front, the lamp is supported from the rear and meant to sit against a wall; the back carries both the structural support and the electrical switch, leaving the frontal composition uninterrupted. Its light is intentionally subtle, softly diffused and reflected across the metal surfaces.
Currently available only in matte blackened steel; a made-to-order chrome finish may be considered on request.
