Hood Light comes from Nolan T.K.’s Contemporary Waste collection, prompted by the perforated pattern and finish of a found stainless steel duct. Its polished, reflective inner surface bounces light off the perforations to cast a dappled pattern rather than a plain glow, and the hood itself can be adjusted using two wing-nut fasteners on its sides to redirect the light.
The fasteners are left visible rather than hidden, and the piece is a genuine one-off made from diverted waste. Its cylindrical base carries a natural patina from previous use, giving the fixture weighted stability along with material variation and irregularities that are embraced rather than corrected.
