Two sisters, two cities, one studio. em ef – Marie and Feline: twins, designers, artists, and keen observers of everyday life. Their perspective: playful and thoughtful. Their tools: objects, models, installations.Born in Munich, raised in Vienna, they studied film in Berlin and worked there as directors. Drawing became a place of retreat – resulting in "die Genießer": illustrations, a book, and a column in the Tagesspiegel.In 2022, they founded em ef studio – the step from 2D to 3D, from black and white to color. Their studio is a thought space, a stage, and a workshop all in one. Here, objects are created that appear playful but pose social questions: movement, balance, pause. Humor is a method – irritation rather than instruction.Despite their distance – Marie in Munich/Frankfurt, Feline in Berlin – they work closely together. Different working methods intertwine: analog thinking meets digital extension. The goal is a reduced yet pointed formal language.Their twin relationship shapes their collaboration: proximity and friction create resonance. This results in designs that are a cross between art, design, and everyday commentary – works that create moments: for surprise, reflection, a brief smile.
