Description

this stool is organically grown from the mycelium of a regional tinder fungus, reinforced with earth concrete. i am fascinated by its lively texture and natural coloring, as well as its lightness and toughness. its weight and stability are comparable to cork, the surface is reminiscent of leather and it can be treated and cared for in the same way, for example with oil and wax. the surface of this piece is treated and yet already water-repellent.

so consider this object not molded, but grown.
an earthy play of nuances and colors tells of its origin.
as a silent echo of the hidden networks of our regional nature.

About SOLATERRE Visit Showroom →

My pieces explore the raw materiality and organic processes of nature. Using nature-inspired materials and pigments and textural mediums, I create surfaces reminiscent of geological formations, erosion, and natural transformations. My work delves into themes of time, permanence and impermanence, inviting viewers to engage with the tactile aesthetics and subtle shifts within each piece. Through visible cracks, layered textures and fluid forms I celebrate the beauty of the natural world and its connection to human perception.
