Description

A side table made entirely from natural diabase stone makes this piece like a modern sculpture. Ola side table can be made from green diabase stone or different marbles if required. Perfection of machine-cut blends with handmade touches at the finishes in this piece.
The minimalist and modern design of the Ola side table refers to the theory of solid and void. The theory assumes that volumetric voids in objects are as important as the objects. Even more important than the object. Just like Ola, a minimal side table is a simple piece but characterized by the void in it. The void inside of this solid material makes the furniture lighter and provides ease of use.

Studio Mohs is a creative studio based in Istanbul for searching and imagining various design experiences in a living environment. The works involve furniture and products combining old material with contemporary style and inspired by basic shapes that create clean aesthetics. We aim to transform the ancient material marble into plain and geometric forms by meeting modern lines and constitute a minimal aesthetic. Compose a language that will break the weight and classical perception of marble that formed millions of years ago with contemporary concept approaches, experimental representations, and 20th -century movements. We continue to create unique forms with strong details by including wood and metal materials. The meaning of Mohs is the hardness and resistance scale of minerals. Related to that, the beginning of a journey starts with the intimacy with marble and stone. The origins of Studio Mohs is coming from a long time experience of marble quarries. Years of working with this material has evolved into furniture, interior, and product design. The journey from nature to our living spaces has begun with the sculptural and completely marble coffee table designs produced in the marble factory in Alanya.
