Description

Frame is a minimalist side table thoughtfully crafted by Italy-based design studio, DFdesignLab, with the express purpose of accentuating the beauty of the marble/stone top. The leg structure is ingeniously designed to emulate a Piet Mondrian painting in a 3D frame, bringing a sense of modernism to the classic material.

Available in various stunning varieties, our choice for this version is the captivating Rain Forest marble. Each piece tells a unique story through its touch and appearance. Rain Forest marble, an uncommon and almost choreographic Indian marble, offers two distinct color variants: Rain Forest Green and Rain Forest Brown. Classified as a serpentinite, this metamorphic rock showcases a mesmerizing design reminiscent of a snake’s skin. It is formed through a series of chemical and mechanical reactions at relatively low temperatures, creating a distinctive material that originates from the ocean floor and rises to the surface. The name “Serpentinites” draws inspiration from the word “snake,” reflecting their characteristic reticulated design and a tendency towards green hues.

About DFdesignLab Visit Showroom →

Nicola Di froscia is the third generation in a family of marble workers who have devoted their skills to the family firm, Di Froscia Marmi. Young Nicola grew up in the workshop, exposed since childhood to the complexity of marble work. However, while he did eventually join the family activity, he did so in his own time. He spent several years in England and became a blacksmith. Today he runs DFdesignLab, his own venture, in which he combines the knowledge of his marble legacy and his new knowledge of metal. The result is a modern craft that fuses tradition and innovation.
