Studio Kloumi’s table takes inspiration from Bauxite, the main ore of aluminum. The designer chose cast aluminum for its strength and clean, metallic look.
To reflect Bauxite’s round, natural shapes, they started by collecting scraps of different metals. Then, they placed the pieces into an open mold.
After that, they poured in the molten aluminum. The metal scraps reacted in unique ways, creating unexpected textures and patterns. As a result, the surface feels raw, rich, and full of detail.
Each contrast—smooth versus rough, shiny versus matte—adds depth to the design. Because of this, the table has a sculptural, eye-catching quality.
Every piece tells its own story. While some parts are polished, others show surprising twists in the material.
As the light changes, new features come to life. So, the table keeps revealing something new.
In the end, Studio Kloumi turns raw materials into art. Through process and play, they create a piece that feels alive, grounded, and truly unique.
The shape/dimensions of the table as well as the precious inserts can be customized. The final texture depends on random reactions produced during the casting and can’t be fully anticipated
