Inspired by the Athena Sanctuary in Delphi, the Last Bench by Vincent Decat embodies the spirit of its final remnants. This sculptural bench symbolizes resilience and timeless strength. Crafted from hand-cut wood and stainless steel, its design reflects the precise shapes of Delphi’s stones with subtle curved and jagged edges, paying homage to the past while embracing sustainability. The bench is part of the Ruins of Delphi series, consisting of sculptural furniture pieces reimagining ancient Greece through a contemporary lens. Defined by an unfinished, deconstructed aesthetic, the collection features a chair, bench, and mirror rendered in striking cobalt blue.

Graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven, he creates collectible design pieces that integrate sculptural thinking into everyday use. His work is characterized by forms that suggest life and movement, pieces that seem to breathe or shift. These animal-like qualities transform functional objects into personal and engaging pieces.
