Mara, a modular shelving system crafted by French designer Guillaume Thireau, offers adaptability for any setting. Constructed entirely from oak, it features structural elements inspired by traditional carpentry techniques, where intertwining oak sections create a unified entity akin to the base of a roof. Infused with rustic design elements and a touch of Mid Century Modern style, Mara’s structural and sculptural components are meticulously crafted on a wood lathe. Their rich, dark hue is achieved through a chemical reaction with a rust-based solution, enhancing the oak’s natural tannins and adding depth to its surface.
It’s a simple system, with the elements screwed together. It is made up of a variation (wide and thin) of black units (8), 2 shelves of 150cm x 28cm, 2 shelves of 90x28cm and 2 squares of 28x28cm to assemble the units together. Specific screws and bolts will also be supplied. Each shelf is pre-drilled at various points to allow the units in different composition.
A price reduction may be applied if you purchase several items from the Mara collection. The Mara shelving unit has an oiled finish for the wood.
