Series of wall lights inspired by the artist’s mother’s forty-year-old herbarium and the significance of floristry in the life of his family. Showcased plants have been gathered by the Vistula riverbank and prepared by Mateusz and his mother using a self-developed technique. Each specimen represents a particular moment in time, preserving a season and a memory shared with family.
Every lamp features a distinct, hand-harvested botanical specimen. As no two plants are identical, each piece in the series is a singular, one-of-a-kind work of art.
Each object in the series is touch-sensitive – a gentle tap at the bottom of the lamp’s frame will produce warm, ambient light. The illumination coming from behind the specimen allows the viewer to perceive the extraordinary details of the plant, as its state constitutes a recording of a specific moment in the past.
Herbarium is a cordless lamp powered by an integrated Li-Ion battery, rechargeable via a USB-C port located discreetly at the base. A dedicated charger is included with every purchase.
