Description

Luminous Shapes is an ongoing collection investigating how people understand and interpret experimental product design. When presenting sculptural furniture, people often ask what the objects are for. In this collection the first phase is to make sculptures; once the right shapes are found, light sources are placed into them. Some objects carry a clear reference to already known types of lamp, while others are more experimental and question whether the object is a lamp at all, based only on the presence of the bulb.

The first two lighting objects are made in a composite material developed by the studio, based on crushed granite and fish glue.

Measurements exclude the light bulb.
