Hostile Architecture is a collaborative project between Rotterdam-based design studio 304.cage and Vienna-based Artist Chun. Inspired by the defensive architecture we see around us daily, we designed two large objects that appear uninviting at first glance. However, when examined closely, they reveal themselves as comfortable, functional objects. To exaggerate this context, we combined bold, harsh materials with soft textures.

The slidable bench can be presented and transformed in multiple ways. The two stainless steel covers slide off to form a new object that can serve as a small side table, or an additional seat using one of the covers.
