    CONCHA Embroidure Limited Edition Pendant Light in Metallic Threads by MESEME Studio, is an extension of MESEME Studio’s recent collaboration with embroidery artist Nicole Chui exploring the intersection of lighting and embroidery. This latest limited edition run of 20 pendant lights further elevates the CONCHA light silhouette with a luxurious metallic thread finish.

    Born out of natural dialogue, the collaboration combines an unexpected source of inspiration: a weekend football game with the CONCHA collection’s shell-like paper structure and warm brass details. Chui was struck by her teammate’s running path traced by her fitness tracker during an intense match, which resulted in tireless movement. Known for her captivating embroidery, this translated into a stunning visual narrative on the established collection’s paper shades. Imbued with intricate hand stitching that maps the wild dance of the football game. These embroidered ‘scribbles’ represent the chaos and dedication inherent in transformation, a counterpoint to the main collection’s inherent sense of calm. This limited edition captures the essence of the CONCHA collection and is a testament to the power of transformation and the unexpected beauty found in the most dynamic moments. It evokes a sense of whimsy and textural intrigue, where the light plays through the delicate embroidery, casting a warm and inviting glow.

    Sourced from paper pioneers G.F. Smith, the fixture features a unique paper type that blends paper and non-woven fabric. Visible on the surface are the very fibres that give this paper its distinctive character. Striking both visually and texturally, it also offers surprising versatility. When held to the light, the paper takes on a warm sheen. The CONCHA Embroidered Collection is handcrafted, embroidered, and assembled in our London-based studio. Artist Nicole Chui shares the studio space, fostering a close collaboration.
