The Pebble Coffee Table explores duality within a single sculptural form: stillness above, movement below. Its antique-steel top recalls the softened geometry of a river pebble, shaped over time into a calm, grounding surface. Rounded and quiet, it brings a sense of steadiness to the room. Beneath it, the stainless-steel base shifts into another register: hydroformed, hammered, and undulated until the metal appears almost strained, its polished surface rippling like a landscape shaped by pressure.
This contrast defines the piece. The matte, tactile top settles into the space, while the reflective base absorbs and reframes it. Walls soften, silhouettes fracture, and light breaks into motion across the stee, making the table feel alive, responsive, and constantly changing as one moves around it. More than support, the base becomes a sculptural presence that interacts directly with its surroundings.
At the studio of Nitush and Aroosh, the Pebble Coffee Table represents an ongoing investigation into stainless steel as a medium of expression, how force, fragility, reflection, and softness can coexist in a single object. The top is hand-finished to achieve its time-worn profile, while the base is formed using energy-efficient hydroforming and refined by hand. Despite its monolithic appearance, the piece is lighter than expected, allowing for easy placement without losing its architectural clarity.
Each table is handmade and inherently unique. Subtle variations in surface, fold, and contour reveal the touch of the maker.
