Horizonte [ho-ri-zon-te] is Portuguese for where the sky meets the sea, an endless line of possibilities, inviting dreams and new journeys. Inspired by that idea, this ceiling lamp by Ricardo Costa, founder and artist of Poémia, takes an appealing, modern, minimalist form.

Each piece is hand-sculpted from FSC-certified walnut wood, built up through a stacked lamination process and finished with clear wood oil. Integrated LEDs sit behind acrylic details, celebrating the transformation of wood into something sculptural.

Poémia offers the option to customise Horizonte’s dimensions and finishes, or to develop an entirely new piece together. The integrated light source runs at 60W, 3000K.

POÉMIA is a Portuguese brand created in 2024 by the artist Ricardo Costa. Son and grandson of naval carpenters, this ancient art and the passion for wood have always been part of his life. Discovering the capacity and versatility of wood to take on new forms without ever losing its character, Ricardo honours this raw material by creating light sculptures, defining them as "living" pieces that create the illusion of metamorphosis, seeming to change shape as we move around them. The result is decorative lamps with an appealing, modern and minimalist design. Brought to life by the mind and hands of its creator, each piece is the result of an intense artistic process that takes place at POÉMIA. After months of rigorous experimentation and research, Ricardo Costa developed his own personal technique, pushing the wood to its limits without breaking it, putting it under tension, creating organic and fluid forms that convey movement. Awakening to a new stage, POÉMIA now launches its first collection, AURORA, which means "first light" and is inspired by the river and beach ambience that surrounds the studio where it all happened and happens. The AURORA collection features different lamps with unique and timeless lines, offering exclusive pieces with an added touch of creativity, innovation and beauty.
