12 Elegant Scandinavian Modern Lighting Designs

With “Marbled Salts”, Roxane Lahidji explores new possibilities, reinventing salt as a sustainable design material.

This Scandinavian Modern piece consists of a seamless volume of marble with no cables other than suspension wires.

A hand-made lamp from natural, exclusive materials. The exterior of “The Queen” lamp is made from corroding steel, while the inside of the lamp is covered with 23.75 carat gold plate.

The Solve Floor lamp is part of the Pentagram collection. The inspiration began with the sensation that music generates. Pentagram is the visual translation of musical elements accompanied by somatic sensations.

The Junius lamp makes a bold statement with its geometric stacked elements that appear to float above one another. The lamp is constructed with a lacquered steel shade and body, brass hardware, and a felt base. Inside the shade, a surprise of hand-gilded genuine silver leaf reflects and amplifies the light emitting from the lamp.

The flexibility of this lighting fixture is achieved by a precise dimensioning of the wood that forms the lamp’s inner construction. By interacting with the translucent textile’s pull on the construction, the lamp can be assembled in just a few moves.

The Quilted Lamp emphasizes the inherent movement of textiles. Using sewing as a constructive element, the shade has no hard structure restricting the textile — allowing it to move freely.

The “Deas” is a Scandinavian Modern floor light consisting of a solid, waxed aluminium main support and base, hand-wrapped in rattan. The diffuser reflector is hand-shaped rawhide illuminated by an LED luminaire.

Inspired by the textures and forms found in the work of Alberto Giacometti, the “Metti” lamp is sculpted from silicone, which displays a rich texture on a biomorphic surface.

“Heimat” is the intersection between memory and space. The desire for it increases with its loss; associated with feelings of nostalgia.

“Bodur II” refers to the sense of touch. It creates a relation between traditional craft and a minimalistic modern approach with its hand-carved surface and light.
