Description

The new furniture collection “System P5” by Studio PART combines creative handcraft with industrial-scale technology. Using metal work at its finest, a single bolt connects the folded sheet metal. As the bolt is wider than its steel recipient, we get a rare and beautiful insight into how this connection operates. Delivering a democratic yet artistic new way of constructing furniture that is both personal craftsmanship as well as large-scale manufacturing.

The construction becomes the aesthetic.

About the designer

studioPART The studio aims to look at design, not as a single occupation, but as a woven whole in a world of plenty, believing more in a universal connection than just the duality of their universe. This offers a gigantic freedom in design but also a huge consequential responsibility. Designers at studioPART are very aware that every object, drawing or even concept is interlinked and has an effect on its surrounding environment, be it physical or emotional. Knowing this, they do not take their job lightly. Each object is undeniably a part of its surroundings. This being one of the studio’s basic design rules, it creates a subtle connection between the objects, their users and other neighboring factors. When working on the humble scale of furniture it is important to be aware of the context. Misplacement of objects and materials can often lead to a speeded decay and a feeling of dissatisfaction. It is crucial to avoid these mistakes by connecting the dots carefully and creating work that is timelessly intertwined to its surroundings. By identifying with an object, it will last a lifetime and live on as a part of remembrance.
