“Stairs” is a versatile wooden library system that revisits the anonymous and old model of libraries.It is born out of the desire to maximize the amount of shelf space available while giving each book its proper space on display. It features movable shelves so you can easily adapt the layout to suit your needs. The design process started from a functional intention and arrived at an architectural form of metaphora. The metaphoric aspect of the library as a stair reminds you the ascent to the knowledge. This system was first conceived for ‘Conca dei Marini’ house, one of the designer’s interior design project and it is now part of their products collection.
