Inspired by the discarded and weathered furniture found on the streets of Tbilisi, this chair by Around the Studio transforms felt, oak wood, and stainless steel into a compelling statement on material resilience and urban storytelling.

Created as part of the installation collection “Café Iris,” the design reflects an intuitive dialogue between past and present, reimagining remnants of the city’s landscape into a thoughtful, contemporary form. Balancing soft textures with structural strength, the chair embodies a fusion of nostalgia, functionality, and artistic expression.

Random is made from crafted felt oak wood and stainless steel, It is available in customizable colors, including blue, red, and terracotta.

Around the Studio is an interdisciplinary collective founded by Tika Shelia and Ano Jishkariani, based in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2021. The Studio explores cultural, social, and political themes through multidisciplinary projects that merge community engagement and collaboration. Their practice focuses on transforming objects and materials that emerge from collective actions into functional, everyday items.
