Description

This storage is inspired by a traditional farming technique involving the removal of stones from fields before ploughing. Farmers used to build dry-stone walls from this recycled material. Our design invites users to stack each module as if they were building their own dry-stone wall, according to their needs and sensibilities. In doing so, users design their own storage habits and the final shape of the object. It’s an invitation to experiment and play, finding the right place for the right stone.

About Studio Jean Louis Noël Visit Showroom →

Louis-Jean and Louis-Noël, the dynamic French duo behind Studio Jean Louis Noël, have rekindled a two-century-old craft in a contemporary context. Specializing in paper-based creations, they have masterfully rejuvenated the traditional "carton-pierre" technique, once a blend of boiled silk paper, stone powder, and glue. Historically, this blend was the artisan's answer to affordable moldings and ornaments for homes and furnishings. Now, the pair infuses their modern version of carton-pierre with recycled paper, aligning with their commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. Studio Jean Louis Noël isn’t just about design – it's a movement. Louis-Jean and Louis-Noël passionately advocate for a paradigm shift in our bond with objects. Distancing from the overconsumption that plagues modern society, they champion eco-design and the creation of handcrafted objects in limited series. Their dedication to recycled materials reinforces their vision: a world where design harmonizes with nature, and where artistry fuses with responsibility.
