The holiday rush doesn’t reward the studio that works hardest in December. It rewards the one that got ready in November.

Black Friday is November 27. Cyber Monday is November 30. Christmas lands on Friday, December 25. For an independent studio, that is a short runway.

International buyers add another layer. Their orders take longer to ship, clear customs, and arrive. A piece that sells on December 10 may not reach a collector in time.

Here is a practical plan. It covers dates, stock, gift ranges, listings, packing, and promotion, in the order a studio should tackle them.

The Dates That Matter in 2026

  • November 27: Black Friday. The traditional start of the gifting rush.
  • November 30: Cyber Monday. Online browsing peaks again.
  • Early to mid December: international cutoffs. Carriers publish their last-ship dates, and international ones come first.
  • December 25: Christmas Day. It falls on a Friday, so the final shipping days are tight.

Step 1: Set Your Last Order Date

Work backwards from the day a gift needs to arrive. Subtract transit time, customs, pickup, packing, and any production time. The result is the last day a buyer can order.

Carriers publish their own cutoffs. FedEx’s 2026 peak schedule lists last-ship dates by destination. According to ShipStation, USPS sets December 9 as its last day for standard international services.

Your carrier and country will differ. The pattern doesn’t. International deadlines arrive well before domestic ones.

  • Add a buffer. Peak season brings delays. Add three to five days to every estimate.
  • Publish your date. Put the last order date in every listing and every post.
  • Tell the team. ADORNO books the carrier. Share your production and pickup dates early.

Step 2: Sort Your Stock

Buyers who are gifting won’t wait. Make it obvious what can ship now.

  • Mark what is ready to ship. Pieces in stock sell fastest in December.
  • State lead times for the rest. If a piece is made to order, say how long it takes.
  • Count your stock. Update quantities now so a sold-out piece never sits live.
  • Offer a clear alternative. If a hero piece is made to order, add a ready-made companion.

Step 3: Build a Gift Range

Not every holiday buyer wants a sofa. Many want something smaller to give or keep. A studio with only statement pieces misses them.

  • Add a smaller piece. A vase, a bowl, a candle holder, or a small lamp is an easier yes.
  • Cover a few price points. One entry piece, one mid-range, one statement.
  • Think of the table. Tableware and objects suit the season. Texture-led gifts are one example of how ADORNO groups them.
  • Say who it’s for. “For a host,” “for a first home,” or “for a collector” helps a gifter choose.

Hand-blown glass, layered glass, wheel-thrown porcelain, and Parian porcelain cones. Four small pieces that make easy gifts.

Step 4: Refresh Your Listings

A holiday buyer decides quickly. Your pictures and words have to answer every question at once.

  • Lead with your best image. The first photo decides whether a buyer clicks.
  • Show it in a room. A piece in a minimalist or maximalist setting helps a gifter picture it.
  • Name the material and method. “Hand-blown glass” says more than “beautiful object.”
  • State size and weight. International buyers need both to judge shipping.
  • Add the last order date. A clear deadline turns browsers into buyers.

Step 5: Prepare Your Packing

Peak season is hard on parcels. Packing that survives July may not survive December.

  • Stock up early. Boxes, foam, corners, and tape run short in December.
  • Match the crate to the material. Glass, stone, and steel need different protection.
  • Photograph every piece packed. A dated photo settles any damage claim quickly.
  • Pack to the spec you’re given. ADORNO provides it, and handles carrier, customs, and insurance.

Step 6: Plan Your Promotion

Shoppers find gifts in the weeks before Black Friday. Be visible then, not after.

  • Launch new pieces now. New Drops give each piece a first chance at the homepage.
  • Share your process. A short reel of hands and material builds interest.
  • Tell the team your plans. Editorial features and campaigns depend on timing.
  • Hold your price. Keep prices consistent across every channel. ADORNO’s sale campaigns drive traffic without reducing your margins.

Your Holiday Checklist

  • Last order date set, with a buffer, and published.
  • Ready-to-ship pieces marked, lead times stated.
  • At least one smaller, giftable piece listed.
  • Best photo first, with material, size, and weight in every listing.
  • Packing supplies bought, and every piece photographed packed.
  • New pieces scheduled, and the team told what’s coming.
