FAQ
Does this lamp come with a bulb included?

The listing specifies an E27 bulb type but does not state whether a bulb is included — use Chat with the maker on this page to confirm.

Will this lamp work with my country's plug and voltage?

It ships with a Type C/E (EU) plug and runs on 220-240V, and the maker offers adaptation upon request for other countries.

Is the light dimmable?

Dimmability is not specified — use Chat with the maker on this page to ask directly.

How is the lamp switched on and off?

It has an on-cord switch.

Since it's made to order, how long until it ships?

It's currently in stock and usually ships within 1-2 weeks, though as a made-to-order piece this can vary — check with the maker for a current estimate.

Will my lamp look exactly like the one in the photos?

No, this is an open edition and each piece is hand-shaped and hand-glazed, so the drop-effect glaze and surface pattern will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Can I request changes to the size, color, or finish?

Yes, this piece can be customized upon request — reach out via Chat with the maker to discuss options.

How should I care for the glazed stoneware surface?

The material is glazed stoneware with a partly raw, matte finish, but specific cleaning or care instructions aren't listed — ask the maker directly for guidance.

Description

This lamp comes from a new series exploring forms the maker returned to after working on wall sconces, reworked here at a different scale as a sculptural, functional object. White stoneware gives the piece a dense, almost silent presence, capturing light without porcelain’s shine — a soft, matte, slightly chalky, mineral finish.

Over that base sits a drop-effect glaze: rather than fully covering the clay, it beads, flows, and settles unevenly across the surface, letting the raw stoneware show through in places. That contrast between matte and glossy, raw and precious, is the point — a surface that keeps shifting depending on the light and where you’re standing.

Because stoneware evolves and transforms during firing at this scale, the original design becomes an intention rather than a certainty; what emerges is organic and slightly unpredictable. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-shaped and hand-glazed in the maker’s own studio, with hand-painted decoration that varies slightly from piece to piece.

About Huillet Lucas Visit Showroom →

Lucas Huillet describes himself as an artisan designer. Transdisciplinarity is at the heart of his practice. He plays with references and inspirations to design objects or spaces that can be told and read like narratives. From conception to completion, his creative process is a game of back and forth between drawing and material. Since 2019, in parallel to his studies, he designs and makes a series of ceramic objects in my studio. Aware of the issues of the current world, his productions are developed with particular attention to their sustainability. The materials are sourced geographically and are chosen for their aesthetic and technical properties. For his diploma, he did a theoretical introspection of his practice and then applied it in his free project which will lead him to trans- pose BDSM practices in a series of handmade design objects. His work was exhibited at Paris Design Week in 2021 as well as at MAD (Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris) and Collectible (Brussels) in 2022.
