Solid Gray Stone Tall Floor Vase – Skew Series in Cast stone by Donatas Zukauskas

A monumental floor vase at 121 cm — among the tallest, most commanding pieces in the collection. SKEW leans off-axis, which lends it a slow sense of movement, as if it settled into place rather than being set down. In grey, the surface carries the cool, mineral feel of aged stone — dense, geological, hand-built throughout.

Worked entirely by hand and built up in fine layers, each vessel takes its own path as it dries — pressure, timing, and the material’s own behaviour all leave a mark. The mix of recycled paper pulp, organic cement, and mineral binder was settled only after long trial and error, the aim being a skin that shrugs off water and knocks while still reading as genuine geological stone. The result: every example finishes a little differently from the last.

Nothing here tries to hide the material’s nature. Cracks, shifting surfaces, and texture you can’t predict aren’t defects — they’re the intent. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.

Each piece is handmade and one of a kind — the small differences in texture and form are deliberate. Built to order. Custom finishes and sizes on request. Trade pricing on request. Ships worldwide. Lead time 4–8 weeks.

Designed and built by Donatas Žukauskas — a Lithuanian sculptor and designer with 15-plus years making handmade sculptural objects that sit between functional design and autonomous art.
