    Description

    This lighting object began as a chunk of styrofoam found on a beach by the Baltic Sea. Through an electroformed bath, it was turned into a light shell of copper plated in nickel, then encrusted with natural amber from the Baltic Sea, which shines the light from inside the piece.

    The project is about appreciating the beauty of common, overlooked materials — combining what the sea rejected as human waste with a genuine treasure from its depths. Each object is unique, made from a different chunk of styrofoam, so the shape varies from piece to piece.

    The lamp can be customised to work in any country.
