Designing any light piece which evolves from the usual materials, forms and textures, has to respect a practical principle: the light bulb needs to work, and light should shine through. Gimmicky design may prove photo-pretty and drive a few ohlalalas, but the truth is, no circus act can last long.

Studio Gameiro strives to maintain a design ethos that is simple yet magical, always incorporating a subtle twist. This philosophy is perfectly embodied in the Clam Pendant collection, which stands out for its distinctive concept and craftsmanship. The pendants, though deceptively simple in appearance, draw inspiration from the form of Cataplana pans—traditional cookware native to Portugal’s Algarve region.

The collection highlights the expertise of skilled artisans who handcraft these pendants with exceptional precision, reflecting a rich heritage of craftsmanship. The collaboration with AUSTA Restaurant, which made this project possible, adds another layer of significance, reinforcing the studio’s commitment to creating pieces imbued with cultural and emotional resonance.

Made of copper, handcrafted by an artisan from Loulé.
