Description

Amigo proposes a reflection on the link between forms, traditions, and bodies that share the same space. The project arises from the encounter between the Latin American stool, Asian sensibility, and the struc- tural clarity of Nordic and modernist design.
In this convergence, a dialogue between cultures and continents is established, where the artisanal, the domestic, and the contemporary coexist within the same language. The series is composed of five chairs in progression that function as an evolving family. They share a formal origin but transform in tone, pro- portion, and gesture, generating a sequence that evokes a visual melody.
As an extension of the series, a screen and Continente Amigo are presented, a piece constructed from residual leather scraps that gives rise to a new imaginary territory. Made of wood and leather, the pieces incorporate a cream-colored line that runs throughout the collection like a common thread. Through rhythm and variation, each object maintains an affinity with the others without repeating itself, creating a silent conversation between form, matter, and memory. The entire series was developed in co-production with Alma Studio.
Fi is an artist and designer whose practice integrates furniture, objects, sculpture, drawing, painting, set design, and writing. Inspired by nature, architecture, history, dreams, and the poetry of everyday life, she transforms emotions and ideas into pieces and spaces that blur the boundaries between design and art. Her work explores materials, geometries, and color combinations to construct visual narratives. All of Fi’s pieces are unique or limited edition, whether as part of a collection or developed on commission.
Alma Studio works with sustainably reclaimed wood from Lake Bayano in Panama. By recovering submerged trees, the studio reduces pressure on other forest resources and transforms reclaimed materials into high-value handcrafted pieces. This work has been designed and handcrafted in Panama.

About Fi Visit Showroom →

FI is an ornamental artist who embodies the creative revelation of the sensitivity of the innate being, with uninhibited freedom by proposing a global universe between furniture, objects, scenery, sculpture, drawing, painting and letters.Inspired by the poetry that gives life, nature, the accuracy of imperfection, history, architecture, dreams, time and everything that educates beyond reason; transforms feelings and thoughts into stories to later create physically palpable pieces and scenarios by merging design with art, a principle that allows her to experiment with shapes, materials and color combinations, using all kinds of geometries, which manage to represent situations of an imagined reality.Sofia Alvarado, founder of Fi, is an architect and designer with the sensitivity necessary to recognize that sustainability is only possible where all actors prosper and human rights are respected, so the ideology of the study is based on the concept of Human Design, which promotes detailed work, integral design of things and efficiency on a human scale, in a tribute to Latin american hand made craft that has been suggested for years by the insecurity of ignorance. It uses technology but does not abandon the artisans, mainly it dignifies them and empowers, so that they appropriate their work to the fullest, and thus achieve luxury artisans. All pieces made in Fi are hand made in Panama by single / unique or limited edition, either under collection or to design to order.
