Biography

MESEME Studio, led by designer, Riya Panchal, is a London-based design studio specialising in hand-crafting sculptural lighting informed by emotions, blending industrial and modern aesthetics.

Offering versatile, modular and delicately playful designs through meticulous material exploration, artisan collaborations, and a commitment to colour and exquisite craftsmanship. Our mission is to spark conversations, ignite
awe, and empower unique narratives through captivating lighting experiences. We offer a meticulously curated selection of self-directed lighting collections, offering a range of stunning products to inspire your vision. Collaborating with interior designers, architects, galleries, and private clients, we offer bespoke design and making services for residential, hospitality, and gallery projects. Our collections are designed, hand-crafted and assembled in our London-based studio in collaboration with global and local skilled artisans, reflecting a unique blend of expertise and tradition.

MESEME Studio’s distinctive and alluring pieces are specified by leading interior designers and architects, as well as sought after by galleries specialising in collectible design pieces. The studio’s creations are designed and engineered, drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of life’s experiences to imbue them with unique character. This approach ensures a profound connection between their lighting pieces and the spaces they inhibit and enables the designer – Riya, to craft pieces that transcend purpose and are artistically expressive. Allowing her to consider elements of narration, form, colour, texture and composition, creating spaces and experiences through visual engagement. MESEME’s work is presented by international galleries and consultancies, including Curio Space, 1stDibs and Artling, and has been featured in Wallpaper Magazine, Darc Magazine, Crafts Magazine UK and Dezeen, amongst others.
