MESEME Studio is a London-based, women-led lighting practice founded by designer-maker Riya Panchal. The studio specialises in sculptural, made-to-order lighting that explores the intersection of material, colour, and form.

Working across paper, glass, and metal, MESEME’s collections are developed through an ongoing process of material exploration and collaboration with skilled artisans. Each piece is designed as part of a modular and evolving system, balancing structure with softness, and precision with play.

Rooted in a narrative-led approach, the work considers light as both a functional and emotional medium – shaping atmosphere, perception, and spatial experience. From collectible design pieces to large-scale installations, the studio creates lighting that extends beyond utility, becoming a point of connection within a space.

Alongside its core collections, MESEME studio collaborates with interior designers, architects, galleries, and private clients to develop bespoke lighting for residential, hospitality, and cultural projects. All pieces are designed, engineered, and assembled in the studio’s North East London workshop, supporting small-batch production and a localised approach to making.

MESEME’s work is specified internationally and presented by leading galleries and platforms. The studio has been featured in publications such as Wallpaper*, darc magazine, Crafts Magazine UK, and Dezeen.
