The Broken Wing Stool by Obscure Objects is a striking addition to the studio’s Winged Series, a collection defined by bold contrasts and architectural clarity. This piece explores the tension between opposing materials: hard, reflective aluminum and soft, matte-finished wood.
Crafted from 3 mm folded aluminum sheets, the structure features a polished exterior that reflects light and space, while the brushed interior adds a subdued, tactile dimension. The seat, made from smooth, oiled MDF, offers a warm, grounded counterpoint to the industrial sheen of the base. The stool’s support system is built from a series of standard U-profiles, precisely joined with exposed screws—a detail that proudly reveals the construction process.
Each stool is handcrafted and made to order in Germany, embodying a meticulous balance of form, materiality, and intention.

The piece comes fully assembled. All edges and corners are carefully chamfered by hand.
